What a children's party spread includes

The usual format is an afternoon snack with something savoury and a sweet table:

  • Mini sandwiches, small pizzas, mini burgers, croquettes or chicken bites.
  • Cut fruit and fruit skewers, which are the first thing to go mid-afternoon.

Children's party catering in Spain is usually offered in two formats. The first is delivery-only: the company brings the food in trays, ready to serve, with tableware, and you set it out yourself. The second includes staff, who set up, serve, clear away and sometimes stay for the whole party.

Delivery-only is the normal choice for a party at home. Staff are worth considering when the party is large, held in a rented play centre or venue, or you want to be free to look after the birthday child. In both cases the company should confirm the setup time, whether they collect the trays and equipment afterwards, and what happens if the party finishes late.

Some companies also offer themed tables, sweet tables or a coffee station for the adults. Ask for these separately; they are not always in the basic quote.

Allergies, quantities and timing

Allergies are not a detail: with fifteen children there is probably at least one. Tell the company about every allergy and intolerance when you ask for the quote, not the day before.
