Private Chef Mallorca est. 2012
Palma de Mallorca, Islas Baleares
Catering company specialising in weddings, brunch, private chef and home catering, based in Palma de Mallorca.
View profile →Hiring a private chef in Mallorca is simpler than most people expect. Someone shops at the market, cooks in your kitchen, serves at your table and hands the worktops back clean. It works just as well for a quiet dinner for two in a Palma flat as for a rented villa where ten guests would rather eat in than drive out every night.
Every chef listed here does in-home dining rather than catering delivery: they cook in your own kitchen, in Palma de Mallorca, around the bay and out in the villages and villas inland, with the contact details each of them has supplied. Below you will find what they charge per head, what the fee actually covers, and how far ahead the busy ones get booked.

A private chef is not a catering delivery: it is a cook who takes over your kitchen for an evening and gives it back spotless. The per-head fee covers five things:
Drinks are rarely included, and nor are hired crockery and furniture; a long drive to the other side of the island is normally charged on top. Quotes on the island are given without VAT — IVA in Spain — which is 10% on cooking and table service and 21% on anything hired in.
The island average runs €46-73 per person, from €21 for simple menus to €160 a head for exclusive services. Group size matters more than anything else, and a table of three or four sits between the dinner-for-two rate and the group-of-six rate, nearer the first: the chef still gives up the same evening, just split between a few more people.
| Format | Price per person |
|---|---|
| Dinner for two at home or in a flat | €95-120 |
| Dinner for two with a high-end chef | €160 and up |
| Group of six guests | €70-90 |
| Group of six, premium menu | €125-150 |
| Group of eight to twelve guests | €55-70 |
| Group of eight to twelve, premium menu | €95-120 |
| Chef tasting menu | €120-200 |
| Exclusive service with a full brigade | €83-150 |
A villa chef sits in a band of €55-130 per person, and what sets the bracket is how many sit down to eat. Breakfast at the villa for eight to twelve guests is quoted as a lump sum of €150-250, and dinner by a Michelin-trained chef for eight to ten guests starts at €700-800.
The 25-40% surcharge is not charged all summer, only on peak dates between May and October. A Saturday costs 15-20% more than a weekday, while booking three nights or more earns a 10-15% discount.
The gap between a brilliant evening and an awkward one sits in the conversation beforehand, not in the chef's CV. Worth asking:
Private chefs working on the island include Private Chef Mallorca est. 2012, Delle Vedove, Private Cooking Mallorca and Concept Events Mallorca. Ask two or three for the same thing — same date, same head count, same menu — or the quotes will not be comparable. The form on this page reaches several at once.
Most chefs cooking in private homes are based in Palma de Mallorca and around the bay, and each one sets its own no-charge radius, so confirm whether Calvia, Marratxi, Llucmajor and Andratx fall inside it. The north and the far east — Pollensa, Alcudia, Arta and Santanyi — usually carry a travel charge on a single-night booking, though it shrinks across several consecutive nights at the same villa.
One week is the usual lead time, enough to agree a menu and shop. That rule tightens in summer: between May and October the chefs in most demand close their diaries weeks ahead, so book as soon as the villa is confirmed.
Rural fincas without enough electrical supply need a generator, quoted separately at €300-600, and bookings on Menorca, Ibiza or Formentera carry a logistics supplement because the team and the ingredients have to travel by boat. A deposit of 20-30% is requested at confirmation.
The island average runs €46-73 per person, with simpler menus from €21 and exclusive services up to €160 a head. Group size decides where you land: a dinner for two works out at €95-120 each, while eight to twelve guests brings it down to €55-70. Quotes are normally shown before tax.
Intimate dinners are the dearest per head, because one chef's whole evening is shared between two people. Expect €95-120 per person, rising to €160 and above for a high-end cook and a long tasting menu. Shopping, cooking in your kitchen, table service and the washing up are included; drinks almost never are.
This is the best-value bracket: €55-70 per person for a standard menu, or €95-120 once the cooking moves up a level. Dinner by a Michelin-trained chef for eight to ten guests is quoted as a lump sum from €700-800. Past eight seated guests, add one waiter for every 10-12 people.
Chefs who work with holiday villas and foreign residents usually handle English, though it is worth confirming when you book, as it is with any other language you need. Shopping is part of the job: the chef buys the produce, cooks everything on site, serves and clears up afterwards. Confirm in writing whether ingredients sit inside the per-head rate or are invoiced separately.
Yes, and it is one of the commonest requests on the island. The chef returns each evening with a different menu, and breakfast can be added for eight to twelve guests at €150-250 per service. Villa stays are priced by the night, not as a fixed week: you agree how many dinners you want and which evenings the chef has off, and three or more consecutive nights takes 10-15% off.
One week is plenty outside the busy months. From May to October, and above all in July and August, book as soon as the house is confirmed and allow several weeks, because the diaries of the chefs in most demand close before restaurant tables do. In November or March, a few days' notice is usually enough.
